Introduction to Sociology: This course will draw from the classical theoretical approaches as well as recent sociological debates to understand the discipline of Sociology.

This course is an overview of the discipline of Sociology. This course will fulfill the following objectives: Introduce students to the major theoretical approaches in the discipline of Sociology, draw from contemporary Sociological research and bridge the gap between theory and data. The broad topics which will be covered under this course are: sociological theories, migration, inequality, globalization, marriage, family patterns, gender roles and media representations.
