This course will introduce students to the major theoretical approaches and research in the field of Social Gerontology
This course will draw from the major theoretical approaches in Social Gerontology and enable students to critically think about concepts such as aging, caregiving arrangements, intergenerational relationships, filial ties and gender ideologies in later lives. The course will focus on the following topics: theories of Social Gerontology; Changing family ties and caregiving arrangements, perceptions and social constructions of aging and health and legal discourses in the discipline of Social Gerontology
